Phil and Andy’s first production of 2008 went out tonight on BBC Radio Manchester. A sixty minute documentary on ‘camp comedy’ featuring a host of interviewees and clips – and a rare acting appearance from Phil!

Phil and Andy’s Christmas special for BBC Radio Manchester has been postponed to make way for an exclusive interview with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Undeterred, the writers are reworking 'Camp as Christmas' - without the seasonal references - for broadcast in the New Year... Ah well, that’s showbiz!

Phil and Andy’s latest project is a one hour Christmas special for BBC Radio Manchester. Another comedy documentary, it will feature a whole host of interviewees, clips and songs. More details nearer the time!

Make sure you tune your wireless in to BBC Radio 2 tonight as Laughter & Tears: The Les Dawson Story gets it's first airing. Presented by Jo Brand, this warm and revealing retrospective of one of 'The North's' greatest ever comedians has been eagerly anticpated by fans and critics alike.

20th September 2007
Publicity starts to appear in the trade press for Laughter & Tears: The Les Dawson Story. Written and researched by Phil and Andy, and presented by Jo Brand. The show goes out on BBC Radio 2 on the 2nd October.

Phil and Andy are short listed for a sixty minute drama on the World Service – Fingers (and cheques) crossed for the Beebs final decision in October!

Phil and Andy have just been contacted with the news that a twenty minute 'best of' podcast of the writers performing their own material will be available for download from July. More news when we get it!

Phil and Andy are fortunate enough to meet two of their comedy writing heroes - Ray Galton and Alan Simpson - whilst recording interviews for an up-coming BBC Radio 2 tribute to the great Les Dawson.

Phil and Andy's tribute to the late John Inman is due to be broadcast during BBC Radio Manchester's minority programming tonight at 6:30pm.

Phil and Andy have just been commissioned by BBC 3 to provide some stand up routines which ‘challenge and push the boundaries of political correctness’. These will be performed in front of a live ‘comedy club’ audience for a documentary which looks at whether we treat people differently based on factors such as race or disability.

Phil and Andy's much praised documentary CARRY ON NOW AND THEN, which looks at the lives and careers of Frankie Howerd, Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtry, will be repeated on BBC Radio Manchester at 6.30 on 21st December.

1st December 2006
Phil and Andy, along with Made in Manchester Productions, have been commissioned by BBC Radio 2 to produce a sixty minute documentary on the life and career of the great LES DAWSON. The programme will go into production in the New Year and will air at the beginning of October 2007.

18th November 2006
Phil and Andy join the cream of the North West's acting and production talent at the Royal Television Society Awards dinner held at the new Hilton Hotel, Manchester. The evening was a huge success and came complete with a full scale fire evacuation!

Phil and Andy's stage play TURING'S TEST - a surreal journey through the mind of Alan Turing moments after he committed suicide is to receive it's world premiere in Manchester next Spring. More details to follow in the new year!

Phil and Andy's latest scripted documentary - Carry On Now and Then - a celebration of the Carry on films, and in particular Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtry and Frankie Howard goes out on BBC RADIO MANCHESTER at 6.30 on Wednesday 27th September.

Phil & Andy are currently working on a new website concept based on a 1980's children's TV character. More soon!

15th September 2006:
After the writers return from their well deserved summer holidays, they hit the ground running - writing a number of radio proposals and brainstorming their ideas for a brand new Cable/Satellite Television Channel due to launch in February 2007.

26th July 2006:
A short interview with David Benson airs on BBC Radio Manchester tonight. David discusses his experiences of being a gay performer and Phil in his role as interviewer makes his broadcasting debut.

18th July 2006:
'Another Fine Mess - 80 Years of Laurel and Hardy' presented by Sir Norman Wisdom is broadcast at 8:30pm tonight on BBC Radio 2. The programme was produced by Made In Manchester Productions and was written and researched by Phil and Andy.

13th July 2006:
Phil and Andy interview David Benson - actor, writer and Kenneth Williams impersonator extrodinaire - for a couple of up and coming projects for BBC Radio Manchester and BBC National radio.

16th June 2006:
The wonderful Ken Dodd records an interview with Phil and Andy in readiness for an up and coming hour-long documentary on the lasting appeal of Laurel and Hardy to be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in July.

26th May 2006:
Phil and Andy are fortunate enough to meet one of their comedy heroes, Sir Norman Wisdom, whilst working on a BBC Radio 2 documentary for Made In Manchester Productions.

30th April 2006:
Up and coming magic act Hi Jinx recently won the North of England Magician's award for their new stage act. The cross talk and patter for their show has been written by Phil and Andy.

7th April 2006:
Phil and Andy are currently working on a new sixty minute radio documentary celebrating two of their comedy heroes. The programme, which will be produced by Made In Manchester Productions, has been commissioned by BBC Radio 2 and will air in the summer.

14th March 2006:
Returning from a fruitful meeting with Made In Manchester Phil and Andy begin work on progressing a number of projects towards the next level of production.

18th February 2006:
Phil and Andy return from RADA where they have taken part in the inaugural meeting of ACQUIRED TASTE TV's team writers group. The group are currently working on two sit-com ideas for late night ITV1.

16th February 2006:
Phil and Andy are asked to head up the comedy think-tank for Made In Manchester Productions. Phil and Andy’s offer to head the think-tank follows on the back of several projects they are developing for the programme makers.

14th February 2006:
Phil and Andy sell their first batch of sketches to Portfolio Design. Phil and Andy will now be the sole writers for ‘Papa And Chico’ - the company’s ongoing series of animated comedy clips for mobile phone download.

10th February 2006:
Phil and Andy return from their first filming session with Criminal Management (UK) – an internet based music merchandise store and music promoter. As part of this new company’s advertising strategy, Phil and Andy will be supplying two comedy sketches a month which the company will film and distribute via the web, e-mail and CD/DVD.

2nd February 2006:
Phil and Andy record the latest in their series ‘Grandma Buttercluck’s Giggle Emporia’ – a comedy sketch show for radio written by, and staring Phil and Andy, and podcast via Comedy 365 - the independent UK podcast provider. Listen to clips here:

Phil and Andy hear that their stories ‘Metro’s Finest’ and ‘Markus Salvage – Film Star’ will be appearing in Night Warrior – a graphic novel series from Modern Life? Productions which has been developed for print on the strength of their successful online comic website.
